There is growing evidence that manmade activities are making global temperatures higher. what are the causes of temperatures rising? How should we deal with this problem?

The
problem
of global warming is being aggravated
due to
human
activities
. In view of
this
alarming issue, both the
government
and
individuals
have a duty to find a way to overcome
this
problem
. Regarding the cause of global warming, a wide range of human
activities
ranging from deforestation, building factories, and driving more
cars
to the increasing number of aeroplanes, are contributing to excessive
greenhouse
gases
emission, as all these
activities
burn fossil fuels. Countries are becoming more industrialized and people are dumping waste into the atmosphere without realizing its harmful effects and the severity of
this
issue.
For instance
, cheap air travel encourages people to fly more ,
hence
exacerbating the
problem
of
greenhouse
gas emissions.
Greenhouse
gases
like carbon dioxide and methane would trap heat in the atmosphere which is known as the
greenhouse
effect and causes the global temperature to rise over its optimal level. There are several actions that could be taken by the
government
and
individuals
to solve the
problem
described above.
Government
should enforce strict policies and regulations to control the emission of carbon
gases
from factories. Factories which are able to control the amount of waste under a certain level could be named "Green Factory" and they could gain more tax refunds.
Besides
, the
government
could spend more funding on increasing public awareness of the issue of global warming by launching campaigns and television advertisements.
For instance
, the
government
can encourage the public to select electronic
cars
, which are more environmentally friendly compared with traditional
cars
through television advertisements and subsidies could be given to the drivers who buy electronic
cars
. Apart from the
government
,
individuals
also
have the responsibility to make the earth a better place to live. The public should cultivate environmentally friendly habits to reduce
greenhouse
gas emissions, like they may use more public transport so as to reduce the usage of petroleum .
Also
, they can choose some energy-saving electronic devices
instead
of traditional energy-consuming electronic gadgets and they should turn them off when they are not using them. In
this
way, fewer
greenhouse
gases
will be released into the atmosphere. There is a myriad of human
activities
that lead to global warming and the
problem
is deteriorating. Both the
government
and
individuals
should take immediate actions to tackle the
problem
and make our world a better place to live.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
  • to illustrate
  • take, for example
