These maps illustrate the future reconstructions planned for the city
centre
in Islip.
Overall
, It can be seen that more accommodation accompanied by some service facilities will be constructed. Currently, the town
centre
has a mainline which goes through two rows of shops built south of the countryside. On the east ,there is a parking place which is located near housing facilities.
Furthermore
, There is a school positioned in the southwest region of the
centre
city.
However
, there are many planned changes in the following years, The most interesting one is the main road structure which goes into a circle form. Within
this
circle, there is a pathway for walking people only. Cars are not allowed there. To the north of
this
pathway, there will be a shopping
centre
located between a station for buses and a car park. Shops will be positioned south of
this
road. Accommodation will be more distributed in
this
circle
as well as
towards the south. The school building will remain in the same location as they are currently now.
