Overall
, there was a gradual increase in Wales and Northern Ireland while
England and Scotland experienced a downward trend. However
, England has the largest volume of cheese
consumers.
In 1980, England was recorded as having the highest cheese
consumption which started at around 110 Kg
and gradually decreased to 100 Kg
in 2000 until reached roughly 80 Kg
in 2020. Scotland was ranked as the second where purchased cheese
around 80 Kg
initially
and hit a ceiling of around 110 Kg
in the next ten years then
slightly declined by approximately 58 Kg
throughout the period.
On the other hand
, the others two countries experienced steady growth. At the beginning of time, the number of cheese
buyers in Walse was about 45 Kg
and slowly went up to 70 Kg
in 2000. Likewise
, there was a slight increase in Northern Ireland rising from 12 Kg
in 1890 to 30 Kg
in 2000 and was followed by a dramatic rise of 60 Kg
