The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Two maps compare the changes in the layout of the village of Stokeford between 1930 and 2010.
Overall
, great changes had taken place in the village of Stokeford by 2010, and it is apparent that the River Stoke crossed the town from southwest to northeast over the period shown, with a bridge constructed in the north. In 1930, there was a long street in the middle of
this
area which divided the village into two parts and connected to the bridge as well. On the west side of it, stores and a post office were constructed, with several houses next to them.
Additionally
, a primary school was established at the east, which was close to an area with gardens and large houses, and grazing fields were mainly in the northeast of the town and between the river and the road. When it came to 2010, the main road extended to the east and west, and a square made of new branches could be witnessed in the midst of
this
area. It is
also
worth mentioning that the primary school was refurbished and extended, and the gardens nearby were replaced by buildings to accommodate retired seniors.
Besides
, a large number of houses were built along the streets, taking the place of the shops and farmland.
