The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010.
This
report will refer to two maps that give information about how the village of Stokeford changed over a span of 40- years. As can be seen from the maps, the town has been dramatically changed, particularly in the infrastructure, which convert the town from a small countryside into a large urban
area
. A major part of Stokeford was used for agriculture and farming in 1930. There were a few shops, a post office and a primary school at the northern end of the village. In the east of the rural
area
, there was a large house surrounded by gardens ,
along with
the bridge over the River Stoke. In 2010, the most striking change is that the village was transformed into a residential
area
from an agricultural
area
. One notable change has been the demolition of the schools to the north of the urban
area
. In the east, a large residential compound was renovated into a retirement home.
However
, the bridge and the post office still existed.
