Overall
, all electrical appliances become more popular, in ,particular refrigerators showed the most significant increase in use over the period given, followed by vacuum cleaners with a gradual rose at the same percentage
while
the number of
hours
of housework presented a dramatic decrease in the
last
one hundred years.
Firstly
,regarding the change in ownership of electrical appliances which increased, refrigerators witnessed the most significant rose, starting at just over 0% in 1920, increasing dramatically to 90% in 1960 and
then
continuing to rise steadily to 100% in 1980 and remained constant for 39 years. Vacuum cleaners started at 30% in 1920 and
then
rose gradually to 100% in the year 2000 and remained unchanged until the end of the period given.
Although
the washing machine presented fluctuation over a century, in 1900 was owned by 40% of householders and reached a peak at 70% in 1960, followed by a fall in 1980 by 10 per cent and finished just above 70% in 2019.
Secondly
, at the beginning of the period, the amount of time spent doing housework in households was 50
hours
per week, declined sharply to 20
hours
per week in 1960 and continued to drop and in 2019 reached only tenth
hours
