Recent figures show an increase in violent crime among youngsters under the age of 18. Some psychologists claim that the basic reason for this is that children these days are not getting the social and emotional learning they need from parents and teachers. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Juvenile crime has been soaring in recent years across the world, even in countries with high human development indexes.
That is
the reason why
this
phenomenon must be researched. There is a huge amount of risk factors that contribute to juvenile delinquency,
such
as social and psychological factors. I agree with the statement that parents and teachers are responsible for
children
's moral development. At the same time, family and school are not the only institutions that could influence the development of the moral sense. The first reason why I agree is the fact that
children
’s surroundings significantly affect their emotional and mental growth. There is no innate concept in the human mind about good and evil.
This
knowledge is acquired through social interactions. Many of us have heard about the phenomenon of feral
children
,
children
, who have grown up with limited human contact, with little or no experience of human care, socially accepted behaviour or language. Those
children
’s behaviour displays all the patterns that are typical for animals who raised them. I believe that family plays a big role in shaping
children
's and adolescents' behaviour. In domestic abuse (??), parental indifference could provoke
children
to commit a crime.
On the other hand
(??), prevention measures within at-risk groups should be undertaken. Teachers are the second-closest adults to youngsters after their parents, who can identify criminal tendencies among their students. Schools as social institutes may ensure timely access to a psychologist or another caseworker.
Moreover
, schools should give youth the opportunity to develop physically and mentally by participating in sports, seminars and other activities. At the same time, family and school are not the only social institutes having an influence on youngsters' minds. Crime could be propagandized among juveniles themselves. There is an increasing number of research on the role of peer pressure in delinquency and criminal activities among adolescents. In conclusion, I agree that lack of social education and emotional learning from parents and school teachers are the main risk factors for juvenile delinquency. At the same time, I do not believe that it is the only cause responsible for that.
