Looking from an
overall
perspective, it is readily apparent that the proportion of teenagers who learned a musical instrument increased significantly. It can also
be seen that in terms of the most popular choices, the keyboard saw a downward trend while
the piano experienced a slight rise in 1996 and 2016.
A deep analysis of the pie chart provided reveals that there was a dramatic climb in the number of youngsters playing a musical tool over a 20-year period, from 44% to 76%.
Regarding the bar chart, the most popular type of instrument being learnt in 1996 was the piano, at 30%, followed by the keyboard, at over 20%. In addition
, more than 10% of children learning violin and electric guitar, around 13% and 14% respectively while
there was about 12% of those learning more than 1 instrument. In the year 2016, the keyboard registered a sharp growth in the number of learners and reached its peak at 30%. Although
piano remained its popularity, the figures for this
