The bar chart compares the
coffee
and tea consumption and drinking habits of residents living in five Australian cities.
It is clear that
approximately half of the citizens in all five cities visited a café in the past four weeks. Australians in general preferred to buy instant
coffee
as opposed to fresh
coffee
. Residents of Melbourne and Hobart were the biggest fans of drinking tea or
coffee
in cafés, with figures both about 63%,
while
the corresponding proportion of Adelaide was barely closer to 50%. The rates of Sydney and Brisbane were
also
not negligible, at around 61% and 56% respectively. 54% of people in Hobart purchased instant
coffee
in the
last
four weeks, with citizens in Brisbane following closely behind. In Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, just under half of residents have consumed instant
coffee
.
Nevertheless
, these figures were still higher
overall
than those for buying fresh
coffee
. A mere 34% of Brisbane and Adelaide bought fresh
coffee
, and the percentages in the other cities were relatively low as well.
