Write a letter to your manager. In your letter - describe the complaints that have been made - say why the reception area is important - suggest how the reception area could be improved

Dear Mr Reinolds I am writing to you concerning the situation about the
reception
area of our company. Unfortunately, we have received more than a few complaints about the conditions of the mentioned section of the office. Our clients introduced those remarks in their reviews which have been posted on the Google profile of our company. I am glad to add, though, that there were no other critical comments except for their impressions of the
reception
area. Let me explain what they criticized. A number of customers have stated that our
reception
seems outdated - the wall paint looks bleak and the sofas feel sunken.
Furthermore
, our clients have been dissatisfied with the coffee vending machine which sells mediocre coffee for a quite premium price. Personally, I consider
this
situation to be important and worth paying attention to.
While
it is namely the
reception
area
that is
responsible for creating first impressions on potential customers, we should try to improve
this
issue in order to impress them in a favourable way. If you ask me, the simplest solution would be to contract a team of interior designers with the task of refurbishing
this
section. What about the paid service of coffee making, I would rather substitute it for a more modern device with free hot drinks. Both of the actions would mean an initial investment but I suppose eventually the incurred expenses could turn into long-term benefits for the company. Please let me know what you think about my suggestions. Kind regards,

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
