The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

These two pictures illustrate the current airport design and the layout for redevelopment next year.
It is clear that
the airport will become much larger and more versatile after its development. More facilities will be involved and the number of
gates
will be increased. The locations for departures and arrivals will remain the same, and there will be no change in the position of security, passport control or customs.
However
, on the departure side, a bag drop service will be available, and there will be changes in the check-in area and café. What is more notable is that people will be able to have coffee, use ATMs and rent cars on arrival. After people have their passports checked, they will have the opportunity to do some shopping before they leave. The airport currently has only eight
gates
, so the walkways are perfectly adequate.
By contrast
, there will be 18
gates
after the enlargement, so the sky train will be in operation so that people can get to their
gates
more quickly.
