The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie charts illustrate the way power is consumed in six categories in an ordinary Australian family and the portion of greenhouse gas emissions generated from those sources.
Overall
, heating and water heating accounted for the most proportion of used energy in all categories, over 70%. On the other hand
, refrigeration, other appliances, and lighting discharge a considerably high amount of exhaust gas compared to the used energy.
Regarding the first chart, heating is the highest usage with 40%, followed by water heating with 32%, just less than 12%. The consumption rate of refrigeration, lighting, and cooling is decreasing from 7% to 4% and 2% respectively. In addition
, the other appliances witness the use of 15%.
The second chart showed that 32% of water heating was the highest whereas
the smallest was cooling with 3%. Lighting, other appliances, and refrigeration doubled the used rate with 8%, 28%, and 14%. Strikingly, while
heating consumed nearly half of the power, 42%, it emitted only 15% greenhouse gas, one-third of the energy used.Submitted by cathyngo1512 on
