Chorleywood is a village near London whose population has increased steadily since the middle of the 19th century. The map below shows the development of the village.
The diagram illustrates the proposed change to Chorleywood village in the 19th century. A small field was built near the main avenue From 1868 to 1883, which was
also
close to Chorelywood Park and Golf course. In 1909, a railway from west to east was constructed across the north part of the main line, which led to the Chorleywood station added beside the small town. From 1922 to 1970, two places were developed around the rail line and station. One was located alongside the main lane and rail line, the other was sited next to the track station. In 1970, a motorway was set up from the north to cross the main pathway and railway, which contributed to develop five new towns
along with
the expressway. They were situated in the intersection between the highway and the main route or track.
