The two pie charts depict the usage of
energy
for different purposes in an Australian home and the
greenhouse
gasses that are emitted from them respectively.
Overall
, it can clearly be seen that heating constitutes a vast portion of the
energy
use in the house and water heating
also
accounts for a greater part of
greenhouse
gas emissions. It is evident that heating and water heating utilize the most power at 42% and 30 % respectively.
This
is followed by other appliances which consume 15 % of
energy
. Refrigeration which is the next records 7 % of the total
energy
consumption and lighting and cooling being the least at 2 % and 4% respectively. Water heating and other appliances ,
on the other hand
, comprise more than half in terms of the production of
greenhouse
gasses at 32% and 28 % respectively.
This
is followed by refrigeration which is 14% of the total
greenhouse
gases produced. Heating is the next highest at 15 % with lighting and cooling being the least at 8% and 3% respectively. It can be noted that the proportion of
greenhouse
gas generated is greater than that of
energy
consumption
