You are looking for a part-time job. Write a letter to an employment agency.

Dear Sir/Madam, I hope you are doing well. I am writing
this
letter to get in touch about the jobs you posted on Sunday's special in the newspaper. As I am a university student, pursuing my study in computer engineering and I saw in an ad that you have some jobs in computer services.
However
, I have experience in computer hardware and software for 1 year.
In addition
,
this
job is related to my study and it will be beneficial to me.
Furthermore
, it would be great if I get
this
job because I live in
this
place and it is nearby the university which makes me very convenient for my study and work. I hope for getting a positive response from your side. Sincerely, Thanks. Preet.

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
