education during the same period. At the beginning of the period, voluntary-controlled

became the most significant providers of secondary

specialist
schools
became the lowest provider, and they declined by the same percentage. In 2005, grammar and voluntary-controlled
schools
continued to decline, grammar
schools
decreased to 19% from 52%, respectively.
At the end
of the period, three types of

diminished to 10%, 12% and 20%.
