The table provides the share of

 of 2000 and 2009. In general, we can see that till 2005 most
students
 attended voluntary-controlled
schools
 and
specialist
schools
 are least attended by them. The
specialist

grammar
 and voluntary-controlled
schools
 show a gradual decline and
on the other hand
community
schools
 show an increase in strength over the
period
 of 2000-2009. From 2000 to 2005, voluntary-controlled
schools
 are the most popular among
students
. There is a shift from voluntary-controlled
schools
 to
community
schools
 from 2005 to 2009 as more than 50% of
students
 attend
community
 college in 2009
whereas
 in 2000 it was voluntary-controlled
schools
.
Specialist
schools
 have been the least favourite as it has the least amount of pupils for the whole
period
 of time.

grammar
schools
 which in 2000 had about a quarter share of pupils halved in 2009.
Moreover
, there is a general trend of decline in
specialist

grammar
 and voluntary-controlled
schools
 where voluntary
schools
 dropped more than half of their population and

 school lost exactly half. The

schools
 only had a minor decline compared to the rest of the two.
On the contrary

community
schools
 grew almost four times from a meagre 12% to 58% over the

 of 2000 to 2009.
