The line chart depicts the

of shops which closed or newly opened in a country during the period between 2011 and 2018.
Overall

it is clear that
both closures and openings had a downward trend in the period
as well as
the total
number
of shops in the country. There was a significant decline in the new stores in the 7 years. The figure, which accounted for approximately 8500 in 2011 got less than half in one year before recovering to around 6000 in 2014. With the drop to about 4000 in 2015, the
number
surpassed the
number
of closed stores. From 2015,
this
steadily remained after which it decreased by 1000 in the
last
year to reach 3000.
Furthermore
, the
number
of closed shops
also
experienced a decreasing trend.
This
started at approximately 6300 in 2011 and
then
slightly declined to just 6000 in 2012 before rocketing to over 7000 which means was the biggest in the period. Even though
this
noticeably plummeted to less than 1000 in 2015, it reached a high of about 5000
in
