Many criminals re-offend after they have been punished. Why do some people continue to commit crimes after they have been punished, and what measures can be taken to tackle this problem?
It can be said, that the recidivism of convicted people is a growing tendency worldwide. The reasons of this issue derive from society itself. There is one common element among delinquents that all of them had a troubled childhood. Physically and mentally abusive parents often combined with drug addiction or alcoholism, unloving environment, and unrealistic expectations towards their children are often the main reasons why one turns out to be a lawbreaker or in a better case “just” a mentally ill person, who carries its wounds through whole life. These factors can be considered also as the motivations of backsliding but there are several other elements of this phenomena.
