Some people think saving money is good, but others think spending money is a better way to enjoy life. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Money
is one of the most important assets in our
life
. Some
people
believe that it’s best to save
money
,
while
others believe consumerism is a better way to enjoy the present to the fullest. In the following paragraphs, I shall elucidate both views and give my opinion. On the one hand, saving
money
is pivotal to ensuring a better future.
Life
is full of risks and unforeseen circumstances,
therefore
, having
money
put aside for rainy days is essential. An emergency fund can reduce the stress of dealing with unexpected problems
such
as accidents, pay disruptions, … and bring about peace of mind.
Furthermore
,
life
gets more and more costly over time as income decreases but expenditure increases. Saving from a young age allows for a more comfortable
life
later down the line.
By contrast
, many
people
believe that
instead
of leaving their
money
idle, spending to increase their quality of
life
is more worthwhile.
People
usually spend on what they deem most important for them.
For instance
, many like

or going out with friends to create memorable experiences,
while
others like buying luxurious items as that gives them a sense of

and self-satisfaction.
Overall
,
while
saving helps to better prepare for the future, spending allows
people
to live their present to the fullest.
While
both arguments have their merit, I believe that a good balance has to be drawn, enjoying
life
while
also
planning for the long-term future.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
