Should long-term job seekers in receipt of government benefits be made to do voluntary work so that they give something back to the community? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Many
people
 believe that long-term
job
 seekers who receive
government
benefits
 should do voluntary
work
 to give something back to society.
However
, from my point of view long-term
job
 seekers owe nothing to the
government
 or the community, so they should not do voluntary community
work
. In
this
 essay, I am going to state some reasons to support my opinion. First of all, any person who works has the right to receive
benefits
while
 being unemployed, independently the
time
 is unemployed.
This
 is because
while
people
work
 they pay their taxes which are destinated to pensions and
benefits
 among other possibilities. In
this
 way, they can receive
this
 financial support when they need it.
On the other hand
,
people
 who are seeking a
job
 for a long
time
 should just spend their
time
 to find a
job
.
This
 can be explained by if
people
 do voluntary
work
 they can not use
this
 precious
time
 to seek the
job
 that suits them.
For example
, the profession they studied for or a better-paid position.
Thus
 they would not have the need of living from the
benefits
 and make their contributions to society by paying taxes. In conclusion, long-term
job
 seekers should not do voluntary
work
 because it is the
government
 that should find ways to occupy their citizens.
Furthermore
, if individuals who live from
benefits
 do voluntary
work
 they will not have the opportunity to find a
job
 that fits them and bring money with which they can contribute the society by paying their taxes. I personally believe that the
government
 should create employment programmes to create more
job
 positions and avoid unemployment.
