You paid a refundable deposit when you rented an appartment. You left the department in good condition but the landlord won’t return the deposit. Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter: -Explain why you are writing -Ask for the return of your deposit -Inform the landlord of possible legal action.
Dear Mrs. Smith,
I am writing with regard to the rental deposit I should have received from you three months ago.
I am Maria Do, the tenant of your apartment on Princess Street from January to December 2022. I stopped renting your room at the beginning of
this
year. Before I returned the room, I had invited you to come and check, and I replaced the bulbs in the washroom once you realized them to be broken. Therefore
, the flat was in good condition then
. Based on the contract, you would have refunded the down payment of $2,000 within 15 days, but till now I have not received it yet.
With this
letter, I request you to transfer it to my bank account (the detail in the agreement) within two weeks from this
date.
If I do not receive it on time, I will submit my proceedings to the court of justice in Kingston, and in this
case, besides
the deposit, I may ask for compensation and interest for your late payment.
I await your prompt action.
Yours sincerely,
Maria DoSubmitted by mariatuyet82 on
