The process below show the life cycle of a specie of large fish called salmon

The picture illustrates the way in which the fish called salmon develop from
eggs
to adults. Three main stages are shown on the diagram. The salmon
eggs
and baby fishes live in the
river
,
then
swim into the ocean, and eventually turn back into the freshwater for laying
eggs
. Beginning at the process stage, we can see that the
eggs
are covered by small stones and reeds. It is protected there for around a half year in an upper
river
where the water flows softly. In the second stage, the

from 3 to 8 centimetres. The baby fishes follow the strong flowing water to live approximately 4 years
at the end
of the
river
. After 4 years, the size of the fish becomes 4 times larger and it is called “smolt”. To continue the cycle of life, the smolt swims into the ocean where they spend almost 5 years living. With
this
time, it becomes “adult salmon” with a size of 70-76 cm before it passes into the
river
to complete the cycle
