Excessive use of private cars is considered to be the main reason for the traffic jam in many cities and that's why the use of public transportation is encouraged. The popularity of private cars
has increased dramatically in the last
few decades, however

could lead to serious problems in urban areas. These vehicle needs fossil fuel to generate energy to run its engine so they create more pollution to the atmosphere which accelerates the global warming process. Furthermore
, the increasing number of private car cause congestion in the rush hour and give an adverse impact on financial loss of $70 million annually, according to
a survey conducted by the local government
in Jakarta.
For these reasons, the government
encourage people
to use public transportation
because with less usage of personal cars
means less pollution and reduces traffic jam during rush hours. Nevertheless
, many people
are reluctant to use public transportation
because they are less comfortable compared to private cars
. To overcome this
problem, the government
could buy a mode of public transportation
equipped with air conditioners and music facilities so people
will enjoy using these facilities. Additionally
, they have to make the arrival and departure of public transportation
on time, so people
will not arrive late at their destination. These steps have already been taken in Japan, where train staff have to ask for apologize to the passengers if they do not arrive on time according to
the schedule they prepared.
In conclusion, I contend that improvement in public transportation
is imperative for the government
if they want to reduce the usage of personal cars
