these days, in many countries fewer and fewer people want to become teachers, particularly in secondary schools. what are the reasons for this, and how could the problem be solved?
Nowadays, a reduction in
teachers
has been noticed in many countries. Universities are receiving fewer students
who want to become teachers
, especially in high schools due for many reasons
. In this
essay, I will introduce some of the reasons
followed by a probable solution for each one of them.
First,
one of the most common reasons
is that teaching is a demanding job. Many teachers
are suffering from stress and anxiety owing to the sense of responsibility and the hard task that is
required. In other words
, the students
' improvement, the administration
work
, the parents' satisfaction as well as
, planning lessons and correcting tasks are not easy to handle. Most of the time, teachers
usually work
extra hours, at school and at home, besides
being on their feet all day. Personally, I think assistance must be provided. The administration
should be aware of the pressure and act according to
it. For example
, each teacher should have a teacher assistant that would help with some tasks such
as; filling the students
' reports, preparing some activities, and dealing with the administration
work
.
Secondly
, Another main reason is today's generation's bad behaviour, more specifically, secondary school students
, known as teenagers. Current students
are less respectful than the previous ones, they tend to be violent and so sensitive. I believe video games and social media are to blame. As a result
, teachers
find difficulties coping with them. To deal with this
, I reckon that parents should be involved and be present regularly to help the teachers
educate the learners. Also
, the administration
should make strict rules in order to take control of them and help them get a good education.
Finally
, the long period of study is also
one of the major reasons
why fewer people want to become teachers
as well as
the low salary that come after it. A survey has found that teaching is the least paid work
among academic jobs. For example
, in Algeria, teachers
would only afford food and drinks, they would never dream about buying new clothes or booking a nice holiday since the salary is about $250 a month. So, knowing this
fact graduates wouldn't bother to study all that period for such
a salary. To tackle the problem, the government should put more value on this
profession, regarding the importance of education and the hard work
that it requires. teachers
should be honoured and well paid.
In conclusion, Teaching is a noble job, it is the basis of community. As a teacher, I am very proud and I urge more people to become teachers
as the sensation of seeing your students
' achievement is the best feeling you would ever feel in other occupations.Submitted by faten92.fd on
