recent arrests.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The pie chart indicates the percentage of arrested
males
and
females
from 1989 to 1994, and the bar graph gives information about the cause of the most recent
arrests
.
Males
predominated in the
number
of crimes over the five-year period, and public drinking was the most major reason for the arrest of both genders. The proportion of crimes committed by
males
almost quadrupled (32%) compared to the
number
for
females
, which accounted for only 9 %. It is apparent that the majority reason for the
arrests
in both genders were drinking in public and those figures occupied over 30% among seven
reasons
; 30.5% in
males
and 37% in
females
. The figure for drinking and driving in men consisted of a quarter of the total which placed the second highest
number
of
reasons
for the
arrests
. The rest of the
arrests
,
such
as other
reasons
, breach of the order, and assault were 19%, 17%, and 15.5% respectively. It was just below 5% of male crimes who did not want to answer the reason for their
arrests
.
On the other hand
, there have been some differences in the
reasons
for
arrests
between men and women. The second largest percentage of the arrest was an assault in
females
which almost halved (18%) compared to those figures for public drinking, followed by other
reasons
at 17%, drinking and driving at 14%, breach of order and theft was 12%. In terms of no answer,
this
case had the least percentage (7%) in
females
and a similar
number
was observed in
males
.
Overall
, arrested
males
occupied a third of the total and the figures of the
reasons
for the
arrests
in both genders varied apart from public drinking.
