In today's world, Mobile
phones
have become to play a large role in our daily activities and routines, education and schooling included.
While
the usefulness and necessity of these devices, alongside
access
to the internet, is undoubtful, many schools have prohibited
access
to mobile
phones
and similar electronic gadgets for
students
while
on campus. In my honest opinion,
this
decision
as well as
the proper enforcement of it for any age and grade is beneficial for
students
' mental, physical, and social well-being. First of all, limiting
access
to
phones
while
in the classroom can increase learning. These devices implement a tendency in the users to check their content regularly, a habit that can decrease attention span in youth, cause distraction when focus and concentration are of most importance, and may transmit these effects to classmates and the teacher. Imagine a mathematics class, where
one
must pay much attention to absorb the ideas. Now, if it were that each student gets distracted by a beeping sound every couple of minutes, the whole class falls in

. Spending time with friends and peers in recess time

of sticking to the phone and scrolling on social media, provides the necessary opportunity for all to establish and inhibit the necessary social skills.
Students
may form a basketball team and play a friendly match with each other,

that helps them improve their team-working and sense of healthy competition
as well as
providing their developing bodies with the daily cardio it needs. All these friendships formed and skills improved help
students
to carry on many healthy habits to their adulthood when there is less ground available to bond with others and start to get active and in shape.
One
might go as far as saying that mobile
phones
' absence during off-times at
school
is as beneficiary as in classrooms for pupils' psychological and physical advancement. Restriction on phone
access
during
school
hours for
students
may prove beneficial and vital for
students
' general well-being. The merits are but not limited to fewer distractions
while
attending lessons and laboratories and better engagement in physical and social activities
while
on campus grounds.
