The maps illustrate what the layout of a village named Stokeford looked like between the years 1930 and 2010.
It is clear that
there were various striking transformations in this
village. While
the River Stoke, the bridge together with
the post office and the primary school remained unchanged, there were more houses appearing throughout the area.
As can be seen, one particular change was that all the farmland area in the south was demolished and new roads were opened in order to build more ranges of houses to meet the increasing number of residents. Moreover
, the garden with the large house inside was shrunk to half in size and converted into a retirement home for the older to stay.
Although
the primary school and the post office were not different in position, the shops on the right of the river were removed and replaced by new housing as well. Likewise
, the farmland region in the northeast of Stokeford was also
