You have borrowed something from your friend and it got damaged. Write a letter to your friend. Apologise for the damage to the item explain what happened say how you are going to fix the issue

Dear Jaskaran, I feel sorry about the vandalism on the laptop
charger
that I collected from you.
This
is a result of my poor decision when I plugged the
charger
into a lower socket, which happen to be accessible to my cat, Cove. Usually, I make sure of locking Cove’s playpen before leaving the house. That day, I happen to be in a rush to go to the mall that I forgot to do that. Unfortunately, Cove got out, rushed to my room looking for me and found the
charger
instead
and before anyone could get there, the damage had already been done. I plan to give the
charger
to a technician to fix it. If it's not fixed, a replaced
charger
will be ordered from the company itself but it might take some time. I felt really bad about
this
misfortune. Please find it in your heart to forgive me. Warm regards, Navdeep Kaur
