The table and charts below give information on the police budget for 2017 and 2018 in one area of Britain. The table shows where the money came from and the charts show how it was distributed. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The table compares the sources of funding for the police department between the years 2017 and 2018 in a place in Britain,
while
the pie diagrams illustrate how the budgets were used.
It is clear that
the national government was the main source of funding. We can also
see that the proportion of employee salaries had a decrease between the two years.
Looking at the numbered table, funding from the national government made up the largest portion of the budget
, 175.5 million
pounds
in 2017, and with a slight increase, 177.8 million
pounds
in 2018. The local tax was also
a major contributor to the police budget
, the number went up by just over 10 million
pounds
from 2017 to 2018. The total amount of budget
went up by almost 14 million
pounds
in 2018.
According to
the pie charts, the percentage of funding that went towards salaries shows a decline, from 75% to 69%. The amount of money that was spent on technology had increased. Though the percentages of the budget
for buildings and transport remained the same, the amount of money rose.Submitted by maokaiyi0423 on
