Dear Son, I would like to give you some advice or two regarding the accommodation in Oshawa. During my 4 years of study, I spent the first 4 months staying in the college's dormitory before renting an upstairs room living with an old couple and settling there till graduation. In my opinion, my recommendation is to look for any ad posts in the international student groups on Facebook and verify the contacts properly before coming to see the room and discussing the contract. I would be against living in the dormitory
due to

the high cost and the food is not that tasty in my honest opinion.
Additionally

,
while

, please take the landlord's and roommates' backgrounds into consideration as well. Differences in terms of culture and personality can cause misunderstanding and miscommunication. Please do consider these bits of advice and feel free to reach out to me at any time for life in Durham College. Other than that, I genuinely hope you will have a good time here. Best wishes, Erikson
