Overall
, the presented data states that most countries in North America and Europe used their
water
resources mainly for industries,
while
African and Asian nations prioritized agriculture. North American and European nations displayed unique patterns in the way in which the
water
was distributed between sectors. Around half (53% Europe, 48% North America) of the available
water
in these areas was used in the industrial business, in comparison with 5 % in Central Asia which had the lowest
water
usage for
this
sector. Both regions,
however
, differed from other regions in their low percentage of
water
usage in the agricultural sector at 32 % (Europe) and 39 % (North America). The remaining four areas shared
also
some important features.
However
, when looked closely we could see that Sout East - and Central Asians and Africans, respectively used 81%, 88% and 84% of their
water
resources in farming sectors.
Whereas
southern Asia only allocated 71 % of the
water
to agriculture, but in return managed to become the region with the highest percentage of
water
usage in households at 19 %.
