You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect. Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In you letter •Correct the information in the acritical •Explain whey its is important for the magazine to vie the correct information •Suggest what the magazine should do about this situation.

Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to make a formal complaint about incorrect information given in the latest edition of the international travel magazine. The writer described that the University of Cambridge is the oldest in the world
whereas
in ,fact the oldest university in the English-speaking world is Oxford. The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209, but Oxford was known to have existed in 1096. A magazine like yours has an international reputation and is extremely influential with travel companies and individuals alike. It is essential that any advice should be accurate and reliable and I was genuinely surprised that the facts had not been checked prior to publication. I would like to request you to correct the information and an apology in next month's addition. I would
also
suggest you ensure that all factual information is thoroughly checked before publication Yours sincerely, Shakir

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
