Overall

, it can be seen that there was an increase in the

consumption

of Fairtrade-labelled

coffee

bananas

from 1999 to 2004 in most of the five European countries mentioned. Switzerland and the UK had the most significant changes,

while

Sweden had the smallest variation. In the UK, the

sales

of Fairtrade-labelled

coffee

increased from 1.5

in 1999 to 20

in 2004.

On the other hand

sales

bananas

in the country increased five-fold from 1

during the same period. In Sweden and Denmark, the

consumption
