There is an ongoing debate about the correct time to teach a
language
to children. Many argue it should be taught very young
while
others argue
otherwise

essay, I will be presenting both views and share my own opinion
at the end
. On the one hand, a group of communities finds that a child can grasp a new
language
more easily than an adult. Studies have shown
for example
, that an adult faces much more difficulty in memorizing or learning a new set of vocabularies in comparison to a child. The study concludes with the observation that a child's brain is much more active than an adult brain,
hence
it is easier for the young to learn any
language
.
Therefore
, the argument that children should be exposed to foreign words from early on than later, does hold some valid ground.
Nevertheless
, supporters from the other side of the debate argue that the students should be developed enough to understand what they are learning.
Although
a young brain may be better equipped for
this
task, it will be redundant if they never require the use of their new knowledge in the first place.
Thus
, they argue the need to learn something more resourceful at that period of time; there will always be opportunities to pick up another
language
later in life.
To conclude
, there are sufficient grounds for both sides of the discussion
as a result
of the aforementioned reasons.
However
, I think it is wiser if schools are teaching foreign words at an early age because it will be quicker to learn.
Besides
, adults become extremely busy with responsibilities as they get older, so it will be better for them to achieve a
language
during school when there is time to do so.
