In you letter -explain where your friend can get the key to the apartment -give your friend some instructions about using your apartment -recommend some places to go

Dear Lingli, I hope you are well. I am very pleased that you will come to my
city
. Unfortunately, I am not able to take you around since I am going to have a one-month holiday in Seoul and Yangyang in Korea.
However
, you can stay at my place during your visit to my
city
. As per the
phone
call
last
night, I will leave my apartment key to my sister Kelly before my departure to Seoul. Kelly lives in room #601 in the same building as my place. I have already communicated with her that you will pick up my key from her, and I
also
shared your mobile
phone
number with her in case she can recognise you when you call her. Her
phone
number is 123456 and you can give her a
phone
call to pick up the key before you arrive at my place. I would like to give you some instructions about my apartment.
Firstly
, there is a cooking oven available in my kitchen but please remember to turn off the gas control after you finish cooking.
Secondly
, you do not need to prepare any daily usage products
such
as toilet paper, toothbrushes and body cleansers, which I will prepare for you during your visit,
therefore
, you can use these directly.
Lastly
, my apartment turns hotter since our windows face to west direction. You can turn on the air conditioner if you feel hot.
Additionally
, as it is your first time visiting Dalian
City
, I strongly recommend you go to Xinghai Square and Binhai Road. Xinghai Square is the biggest square in Asia and you can view the beautiful sea when you walk along Binhai Road. Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. Enjoy your visit to my
city
, friend. Thanks, and Regards Jade

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
