The bar chart shows the percentage of the total world population in 4 countries in 1950 and 2002, and projections for 2050.
The presented bar chart provides information on the proportion of the global population in four different countries in the years 1950 and 2000,
as well as
forecasts for the year 2050. It is noticeable that the inhabitants of China and India accounted for the highest percentage, as opposed to the US and Japan. As per the chart, in the years 1950 and 2000, the majority of the world community was in two Asian countries. China was in the leading role with almost a quarter,
while
India constituted 15% and a fifth, respectively.
However
,
according to
the predictions for the year 2050, the rate of Indian residents will overtake their Chinese counterparts by almost 5%.
On the other hand
, in 1950, the Americans and the Japanese made up only 10% and 5% of global citizens, respectively. In 2000, the rate of American inhabitants declined slightly to around 8%, and the figure for Japanese people
also
saw a fall of approximately 1%. Based on the prognosis, the former will stay the same as in the year 2000,
whereas
the latter will decrease to nearly 3%.
