The diagram shows the water cycle, which is the continuous movement of water on, above and below the surface of the Earth. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The illustration provides the
water
cycle that moves continuously on, above, and under the surface
of the Earth. Overall
, it consists of a circular process from the ocean
, to the stratosphere, to the planet's surface
, and then
back to the ocean
.
To begin
with, the water
from the ocean
evaporates into the sky with the help of the sun. The evaporated water
vapour then
condenses in the air and subsequently
forms clouds that contain water
vapour from the previous process. Those clouds will eventually change their forms to water
through a stage called precipitation and soak the land with rain.
After that, the pouring rain will be received by the Earth's surface
to create lakes and diminish the surface
level from regions covered with snow. During the rain, besides
the surface
runoff from regions covered with snow, the trees also
absorb the water
and create a stream of water
beneath the ground called groundwater. The groundwater then
enters the sea after a process called saltwater intrusion just before the ocean
