Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparison where relevant.
The chart below shows the worldwide consumption of hybrid
vehicles
in three different regions during the period of 4 years starting from 2006. The unit is denoted by thousands. As can be seen from the graph,
it is clear that
the US was the country with the largest
number
of consumers for those
vehicles
from 2006 to 2009
while
Japan outweighed the total sales
number
in 2009.
According to
the data, America accounted for the highest sales in 2006 with 250 000
vehicles
sold
while
Japan and other countries had the same figure of just 50 000 in 2006. Despite a slight increase in the figure of the two other regions in 2007 and 2008, the United States still had the highest consumption with 350 000 hybrid cars.
However
, the
number
of
vehicles
sold in Japan grew significantly to more than 340 000 in 2009 compared with just 290 000 US cars. In conclusion, the total sales
number
for hybrid transportation was just 360 000 in 2006 but it rose dramatically to 740 000 in 2009 globally.
