The two maps below show the changes that have taken place in the town of Westley since 1815.
The two maps illustrate the series of changes that occurred in Westley
town
from the year 1815 to the present.
Overall
, there was a massive change in the
town
over the given period. Among the few establishments which were maintained in the
area
were the Market Square and Lake Lendon. One of the most noticeable improvements in Westley was transportation. A train station is now available for people to go in and out of the
town
conveniently. The Twine Toll Bridge which used to be the exit road to London and the open fields were removed to give way for the railway. The
area
which was previously filled with housing in 1815 is now a combination of residential
area
as well as
business and shopping establishment.
Furthermore
, Westley
town
is obviously more industrialized now because of the presence of recreational services
such
as a cinema, sports centre, and hotel. Looking closely at the pictures, the Market Square and
Town
Hall have remained untouched for centuries.
Similarly
, the Tinton Village and Lake Lenton are still in the same
area
.
However
, a number of trees were cut down and were replaced by the housing state.
