The line graph below shows the household recycling rates in three different countries between 2005 and 2015.
The graph illustrates the recycling costs of each housing (in percentages) in three countries from 2005 to 2015.
It is evident from the chart that there is an upward trend in the United Kingdom and Germany though France presented an opposite tendency.
Household recycling rates in the UK started at around 35%,
whereas
this
number was 15% less for Germany at the same time. While
the latter rate kept increasing, the former hit a plateau between 2007 – 2009 at 40%. Throughout 2011 – 2015, Britain's rate skyrocketed to more than 50% and continued the rest of the period with a slight rise, finishing the final year at 60%, the highest among the three countries. Like the previous country, Germany had consistent growth and ended at 55%.
In sharp contrast, half of the waste is recycled in France. This
number was far higher than the other two countries. However
, it gradually decreased to reach a low of one-third in 2013. Afterwards, over the last
