You recently bought a new computer for your job in the office. There is a problem with the internet connection to your computer. Write a letter to the IT support manager. In your letter: · Explain the details of your computer · Describe the problem that you have · Ask for help to solve this problem

Dear Mr Keating, I am writing to ask a help with my computer which I have recently bought for fulfilling my job duties in the office. Approximately a week ago I bought a computer the model of which is HP-142J, with an operating system of 8 GB. It was purchased with the aim of designing web pages as I get several tasks from our Marketing Department.
However
,
this
device has a huge problem, namely, there is no connection at all despite the steps I took to solve the issue by myself. As it was noted above, all the measures taken to resolve the problem were unsuccessful
such
as restarting the computer and even trying to connect to different networks. I would like you to assist in resolving the internet connection problem and your in-person visit would be better for it.
In addition
, my situation needs urgent resolution and should be done by the end of
this
week. I would like to thank you in advance for your assistance and leave my contact number here which is 2146545545. Yours sincerely, Donna Tartt

Task Achievement
To further improve your task achievement, ensure that each part of the task is addressed with adequate detail. While your letter covers all the required points, providing more specific details about the problem could enhance clarity and engagement.
Coherence and Cohesion
For coherence and cohesion, try to enhance the flow of your letter by using a wider range of linking words and phrases. This can make the transition between your points more seamless, contributing to a smoother reading experience.

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
