The line graph illustrates the number of UK people commuting to work every day by car, bus or train from 1970 to 2030
The line graph shows data on how many people utilized
cars
, buses and trains to go to job between 1970 and 2030.Units are measured in millions.
Overall
,what stands out from the chart is that commuters mainly went to job by car during the whole period.Another interesting detail is that although
the figure for buses initially
ranked second,it was overtaken by that for trains.
Looking into detail,regarding cars
,in the year 1970, the highest number of workers (just under 6 million ) used cars
to commute to the place where they work.During the first decade,it remained unchanged after which increased gradually until 2020.Anticipation shows that the figure for cars
will increase significantly by 2030 and will rank first with 9 m.
In terms of other modes of transportation, users commuted to work by bus and train at approximately 4 m and just under 3 million respectively. While
the former showed an upward trend until now and it is expected that it will decline to 3 m during the last
decade given in the question, the latter rose gradually and outnumbered the figure for the former towards the end of the period. The number of workers who use trains to go to work is predicted to increase substantially to around 5 million and rank second between 2024 and 2030.Submitted by Name_1234 on
