It is clear that
the newest metro is located in Los Angeles, which opened in 2001, however
, it carries almost the least number of passengers, exactly 50 million. The longest underground railway system remains in London - it consists of 394 kilometres of tracks, and at the same time is the oldest system from the table. It opened in 1863.
It is evident, that the largest subway in terms of passenger numbers is situated in Tokyo, it transfers 1927 million occupants. On the other hand
, Kyoto has the smallest passenger flow, only 45 million. But these figures are not the only ones that seem interesting - Kyoto’s subway is hardly the freshest, it opened 20 years before Los Angeles underground.
Overall
