In general, chicken

showed gradual growth and fish meat
indicated steady growth of grams
in the whole year. Unfortunately, beef
and lamb
experienced a gradual decrease in grams
.
In 1979, European people mostly ate beef
, about 210 grams
per week, followed by lamb
with 150 grams
per week. Several years later, the consumption of chicken
surpassed lamb
, from approximately 140 grams
to 170 grams
, making chicken
meat
ranked second below beef
. In 1989, the number of grams
of beef
exceeded chicken
because it went down. At the same time, fish meat
showed steady growth from the beginning.
From 1994 to 1999, the number of grams
of lamb
started to rise even though it went down the following year. From 1999 to 2004, chicken
experienced a rapid surge, from roughly 230 grams
to 247 grams
. At the same time, the trend of beef
and lamb
consumed by European citizens plummeted drastically, to 120 grams
and 70 grams
