were the predominant choice for longer distances. For journeys less than 1 mile, walking was overwhelmingly popular, as 90% of

aged 11 to 16 chose to do so, which was 40% higher than that of cycling.
Cars

buses
were less common, with less than 10% of
children
using forms of transport. Meanwhile, the majority of students travelling between 1 and 2 miles to school chose to go by bicycle (75%) and on foot (60%),
while
the figures for

buses
were considerably lower, at 20% and 10%, respectively. In the 2 to 5-mile category,
