, all these countries have shown a rise in their urban community with a maximum increase seen in Malaysia followed by Indonesia.
In 1970, very few people lived in cities with almost one-third of people from Malaysia and the Philippines residing there while
these figures for Thailand and Indonesia were less than one-fifth of the total strength.Malaysian cities had seen a dramatic expansion with the number of individuals living there contributing to just under half of the population in 1990.It soared afterwards and peaked at three-fourths in 2020 and is expected to rise by a further
ten per cent
in 2040.On the other hand
,the citizens of the Philippines showed a marked fluctuation peaking at fifty per cent
in 1990 and afterwards showing a decline of ten per cent
only to start rising again gradually with a forecast of just above fifty per cent
of the country's total populace in 2040.
The Indonesian cities grew at a similar rapid pace as Malaysia's hubs surpassing Thailand in 2000 and the Philippines in 2010.It is expected to continue its upward trend to reach sixty per cent
in 2040.The growth of Thailand's metropolitans however
followed a steady upward course and is predicted to reach just 45 per cent
