The two images display the changes in a village called Stokeford over 80 years of evolution.
Overall
, it is perceivable that most modifications happened to accommodate the growing population.
To begin
, compared to the 1930 version, there are several places that no longer existed in 2010. First of all, the farmlands, which used to be seen in the northeast near the primary school and in the south by the river in 1930, disappeared in 2010.
Second,
the shops sitting next to the post office were
also
gone, being replaced by a few housing buildings.
Third,
underneath the school, there was a large house with gardens;
however
, 80 years later, the house was expanded and renovated, becoming a building for retired residents. Regarding other changes, a great number of communities appeared in 2010.
While
most of the buildings were constructed along the main road, the demographic change bred some new road branches as well, making transportation easier.
Moreover
,
due to
the rising population, the village built two extra buildings for the primary school.
