The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram perfectly depicts the process through which geothermal energy is harnessed for electricity production.
Overall
, it is clear that
the process consists of 5 general stages, two of which take place underground and three of them on the ground surface.
To begin
the procedure, the cold water on the surface is pumped 4.5km down to the underground. Subsequently
,it is passed through an injection well, prior to the geothermal zone which incorporates hot rocks. This
passage on these rocks heightens the water's degree and thus
, makes it hotter. After passing a production well to complete the third step, the hot water is pumped back to the surface.
Looking at the stages occurring on the ground, the hot liquid is put in a condenser where it transfers into steam. This
steam is used for rotating the turbine in the next step. In terms of the fifth step, the power generated from the turbine goes straight to a generator to produce electricity. Lastly
, distribution of the electricity to different parts of the area takes place.Submitted by bita.rezaei7052 on
