Meanwhile, the percentage of urban residents in Thailand and Indonesia were both below 20%, ranging from 15% to 18%. For the following 50 years, the figures for all countries experienced a rise. the figures for city residents in Malaysia and Indonesia surged and made it 75% and 50% respectively. The Philippines and Thailand also
witnessed a climb in the amount
of people living in urban areas, albeit to a lesser degree, to about 45% and 30% respectively.
Concerning the future, four countries are thought to continue their trend. In Malaysia, it is predicted that above 80% of the population will be living in cities.
